The walk for our Day Out is from Palnure to Creetown which is around 7 miles. The stroll is part of the same route. We will meet at the Breastwork car park for car sharing at 10-30am. The walk/stroll will begin from Cairnsmore car park Palnure, the far side of Newton Stewart. Drive past the turn off for Kirroughtry Forest park then take 1st turn on left, pass a farm on your right then go straight on until you reach an old viaduct, keep to the left there, then car park is 1st on the right.Part of the walk is on an old railway line with lovely views over Wigtown Bay. Walkers will go on to Creetown where we will stop for a picnic lunch before turning back. Strollers will go part of the way and can turn back when they wish. They can spend time in Newton Stewart until we all meet for dinner at The Crown Hotel at 5 o'clock. There is a menu attached could you please let us know what you would like. CLICK HERE
> Walk 22nd May>> Hi Walkers>> I have decided to do the Portpatrick Dunskey Glen Walk which is Walk 15 in the West Wigtownshire Walks book. It says it is 5Km and One and a half hours, but that is from the Port not from the Hotel where we are meeting.>> As you will expect at the moment the paths are dry but those who usually take poles may need them.>> Coffee in the hotel afterwards. Let hope it is a nice day then we can sit outside and look over the port.>> Meet at the car park for car sharing 9.40 or at the entrance of the Portpatrick Hotel 10am. I will be at the hotel not the car park. Hope to see you all there
Home-Start Wigtownshire wants someone who can give about an hour a week to cut the grass in the Tweenies’ garden. They have a lawnmower and the garden is quite small. Contact Dorothy 01776 706 984
